Working at Lumen…
Lumen High School is a place of support and resources coupled with high expectations for all students' success. Our collaborative team of teachers, counselors, social workers, para professionals, office manager, operations, early learning center staff, and leadership team will create an environment of “learning together”. Read this article in Edutopia to learn more about our approach to the trauma many of our students have encountered. Trauma informed, collaborative and relationship based is our school’s daily reality. Click the documents below to learn more about our model.
Equity. The foundation of our work.
At Lumen we know that bias exists and plays out in all organizations. We recognize that privilege is real and we understand that a core part of our work is leading for equity and disrupting bias in all its forms. This work can be uncomfortable at times, and we are looking for colleagues who are willing to lean into this work to better our school culture and serve our parenting students, their children and their families.
As a start, please check out the following resources regarding equity in education. When we meet, we look forward to discussing these with you.
